What You Thought Was Over May Not Be Over Yet

Have you ever thought you were completely over something...and then one message, one memory, one person, one dream, or one tiny moment brought the whole feeling back?

That is the kind of energy surrounding the August 28, 2026 Lunar Eclipse in Pisces. This eclipse does not necessarily arrive with a brand-new problem. It may bring you back to something you thought you had already dealt with.

Two purple fish swim before a glowing full moon, framed by purple flowers in a dreamy night scene.
In a celestial scene under the glow of a full moon, two enchanting violet fish gracefully swim amidst purple blossoms, creating a whimsical and dreamlike atmosphere.

A relationship.A decision.

An old disappointment.

A dream you gave up on.

A person you stopped talking to.

A truth you tried very hard not to think about.

And suddenly, there it is again.

Not necessarily because you are supposed to go back. But because there may still be something there for you to understand. Sometimes life repeats itself because we missed the lesson the first time. And sometimes we understood the lesson perfectly well. We just were not ready to act on it. That is an important difference.

THE AUGUST 28 LUNAR ECLIPSE

On August 28, 2026, we have a Lunar Eclipse at approximately 4° Pisces, opposite the Sun in Virgo.

And immediately we have one of astrology's oldest arguments happening across the sky.

Pisces feels.

Virgo analyzes.

Pisces says: But I feel that something is wrong.

Virgo answers: Yes, but what are the facts?

Pisces wants to believe.

Virgo wants proof.

Pisces wants to surrender.

Virgo wants to fix it.

And if you have ever stayed awake at 2:00 AM replaying a conversation in your head, you already understand this axis perfectly. Part of you knows what you feel. Another part wants to analyze it until it makes sense.

The problem is that feelings do not always arrive with footnotes. And facts do not always tell us how we feel about them. This eclipse asks us to use both.

Feel what you feel. Then look at what is actually happening.

Because sometimes we suffer twice. First from the situation itself. And then from the story we create around it.

WHAT ARE YOU PRETENDING NOT TO KNOW?

That may be one of the most important questions of this eclipse. Because Pisces can be wonderfully intuitive. But Pisces can also see what it wants to see.

We have all done this.

You know someone is pulling away, but you keep explaining their behavior. You know a job is making you miserable, but you keep telling yourself it will improve. You know something is not working, but you have invested so much time, love, money or hope into it that walking away feels impossible.

Or perhaps it is the opposite.

Maybe you gave up on something too quickly. Maybe fear convinced you that something was impossible. Maybe you walked away before giving yourself a real chance.

This is why eclipses are complicated.

They do not always tell us: END THIS.

Sometimes they tell us: LOOK AGAIN.

And those are two very different things.

SOMETHING FROM THE PAST MAY RETURN

There is something particularly interesting about this eclipse. The Lunar Nodes have already moved into Aquarius and Leo. Yet here we are, experiencing another eclipse in Pisces.

Symbolically, it feels almost like the universe has already started a new chapter...

and suddenly turns back a few pages.

"Wait. We forgot something."

That is why late August may bring old subjects back into your life.

An unfinished conversation.

An unresolved emotion.

An opportunity you thought had disappeared.

Someone you have not heard from.

A plan you abandoned.

Or even an old version of yourself.

And before immediately asking, “Does this mean I should go back?”

Ask a better question: “Why is this coming back now?”

At times, individuals come back because there's more to the story of a relationship.

Other times, they return so you can finish the story for good. Occasionally, an opportunity reappears because you are now better prepared for it. And sometimes, the only thing that resurfaces is the feeling. Because you now have enough perspective to truly comprehend what occurred.

AND THEN URANUS SHAKES THE TABLE

This eclipse is strongly connected with Uranus in Gemini. And this changes the atmosphere considerably. Uranus has a habit of doing what life sometimes does when we refuse to move. It moves us.

And i Uranus fashion, suddenly, You get the message or you hear the news. Maybe someone changes their mind. Something breaks? Something opens? Or perhaps someone finally tells you the truth. And, at last, you realize something you somehow could not see before.

Your first reaction may be: Where did THAT come from?

But Uranus events are often only sudden on the surface. Underneath, pressure has usually been building for quite some time. Think about a relationship that has been unhappy for six months. The breakup happens on Tuesday. And everyone says:

They suddenly broke up.

No.

They broke up on Tuesday.

But the breakup may have been forming for six months.

That is Uranus.

While the event itself may occur swiftly, the narrative leading up to it typically unfolds more slowly. This is why what seems like a disruption during this eclipse might actually be a form of liberation.

Something has grown too restrictive.

Too outdated.

Too uncomfortable.

Too controlled.

Too false.

And something's gotta give.

Woman in a lavender dress stands on a rock in space, reaching toward a glowing star before Earth and moons.
A woman in a flowing blue dress stands on a rocky peak, reaching out towards the glowing sun and celestial bodies, with Earth majestically behind her, embodying a cosmic connection to the universe.

SOMETIMES A BREAKDOWN IS ACTUALLY INFORMATION

We are naturally afraid when something changes unexpectedly, as this instinctive reaction is deeply embedded in our psyche. Change often disrupts our sense of stability and security, leading us to feel vulnerable and anxious. Our comfort zones, which we have carefully constructed over time, can be shaken by unforeseen events, making us question our ability to cope with new circumstances.

Especially if we liked the old arrangement, the familiar routines and patterns we have grown accustomed to can provide a sense of safety and predictability. When these arrangements are altered, it can feel as though the ground beneath us has shifted, leaving us grappling with uncertainty. The nostalgia for what once was can cloud our judgment, making it difficult to see the potential benefits that may arise from the change.

But disruption is not always destruction; it can also serve as a catalyst for growth and transformation. While it may initially appear chaotic and disorienting, disruption can create opportunities for innovation and new perspectives. Embracing change can lead to unexpected insights and improvements that we might never have considered if we remained entrenched in our old ways.

Sometimes it is information that comes to light during these turbulent times. This information can be pivotal, guiding us to make more informed decisions as we navigate through the fog of uncertainty. Imagine driving somewhere using the wrong map, a situation that many can relate to. You set out with confidence, believing you are headed in the right direction, only to discover that the path you are following is leading you astray.

You keep driving, determined to reach your destination, convinced that persistence will eventually yield results. You keep trying harder, investing more time and energy into a journey that seems increasingly futile. You drive faster, hoping that speed will somehow compensate for the misdirection, only to find that your frustration grows with each passing mile.

You become frustrated, emotions bubbling to the surface as the realization dawns that you are not making any progress. You blame yourself for not being more careful, for not having checked the map more thoroughly before embarking on this journey. The weight of self-doubt can be overwhelming as you wrestle with feelings of inadequacy and confusion.

Then someone finally tells you: "You are on the wrong road."

This revelation, while potentially annoying, can also be profoundly liberating. It might disrupt your carefully laid plans and force you to reconsider your approach, but it also presents a valuable opportunity for correction. It might ruin your plan, requiring you to reassess your route and possibly even backtrack, but it also saves you from driving another three hours in the wrong direction, which would only compound your frustration and waste your resources.

That is the kind of clarity Uranus can bring into our lives. It serves as a reminder that not all disruptions are negative; they can illuminate paths we had not previously considered. Not always comfortable, as the process of adjustment can be challenging and disconcerting, but ultimately useful in guiding us toward a more favorable outcome. This clarity can empower us to embrace change, adapt to new circumstances, and ultimately thrive in the face of uncertainty.

PAY ATTENTION TO CONVERSATIONS

Mercury is also strongly involved in this eclipse. That tells me that words matter. Messages matter. Information matters. What someone says may matter. What someone refuses to say may matter just as much.

There may be conversations around this eclipse that change how you see something. You may learn something. You may finally ask the question you have been avoiding. Someone may tell you something unexpected. Or suddenly, after months of confusion, something simply clicks and you understand.

And understanding can change everything.

Because sometimes the situation itself has not changed.

But your understanding of it has.

And once you see something differently, you cannot completely unsee it.

THEN WE GET TO LOVE, MONEY AND VALUE

Venus is quietly woven into this eclipse story too, a celestial presence that subtly influences our emotions and desires, drawing attention to the deeper layers of our personal narratives. And this is where things become deeply personal, as the eclipse serves as a mirror reflecting our innermost thoughts and feelings, urging us to confront what we truly value in our lives.

Venus asks: "What do you value now?"

This question resonates with urgency and significance, demanding our attention and reflection. Not five years ago, when life seemed simpler and our aspirations felt more straightforward. Not when the relationship began, perhaps filled with the intoxicating thrill of new love, where everything felt possible and the future seemed bright. Not when you accepted the job, driven by ambition and the promise of advancement, or when you started the business, fueled by passion and dreams of success. Not when you made the promise, a commitment that once felt unbreakable, a pledge to hold on no matter what challenges arose.

Now.

This moment, this very instant, is crucial because our values change over time, shaped by experiences, growth, and the inevitable passage of time.

That does not make us dishonest; rather, it reflects the fluidity of our identities and aspirations. It makes us human, capable of evolution and transformation, adapting to the shifting landscapes of our lives.

The person you were five years ago may have been perfectly happy with something that no longer fits the person you are becoming, highlighting the natural progression of life.

This can happen with relationships, where the dynamics shift and evolve, leading us to question if our connections still serve our current selves.

Money can become a focal point of reflection, as our relationship with it may change based on our experiences and priorities.

Work, once a source of pride, might transform into a burden, prompting us to reconsider what fulfillment truly means.

Friendships can also shift, as the people we surround ourselves with may no longer align with our values or aspirations.

Lifestyle choices that once brought joy may feel constraining, urging us to seek new paths that resonate more deeply with our evolving selves.

Even your idea of success, once defined by societal standards or personal benchmarks, may require reevaluation as you discover what truly brings you happiness.

Maybe you spent years trying to reach a goal only to discover that you do not actually want the life attached to it, realizing that the pursuit itself may have led you astray. Perhaps you once wanted security, a stable foundation that felt essential for peace of mind. Now you want freedom, the ability to explore and express yourself without constraints, longing for experiences that ignite your spirit.

Maybe you once wanted excitement, the thrill of the unknown that kept your heart racing. Now you want peace, a serene existence where you can find solace and tranquility amidst the chaos of life.

Maybe you once wanted someone to choose you, seeking validation and affirmation from others. Now you are asking whether you would choose them., a powerful shift that signifies self-awareness and the recognition of your own worth.

That is growth, a testament to the journey of self-discovery and the courage to embrace change.

And eclipses have a funny way of showing us where our lives have not caught up with who we have become, illuminating the gaps between our current realities and our true desires.

They serve as cosmic reminders that it is never too late to realign with what we value, encouraging us to take bold steps towards a life that reflects our authentic selves.

LOVE MAY FEEL DIFFERENT UNDER THIS ECLIPSE

A couple relaxes on the beach under a dreamlike sky, where an unusual lunar eclipse casts a magical glow over the shimmering waves and star-studded night.

Relationships may become especially revealing, shedding light on aspects of our connections that we may have overlooked or chosen to ignore for some time.

Not necessarily because everyone suddenly breaks up or experiences dramatic shifts in their partnerships.

That is not how astrology works, as it encompasses a broader spectrum of influences and insights that guide our emotional landscapes and relational dynamics.

Instead, during certain astrological events, particularly eclipses, emotions that have been hiding beneath the surface of our everyday lives may become harder to ignore. These feelings, often suppressed by the routine of daily existence, can rise to the forefront of our consciousness, demanding our attention and introspection.

You may realize how much you miss someone who once played a significant role in your life, their absence creating a palpable void that you can no longer dismiss. This longing may prompt you to reflect on the memories you shared and the impact they had on your emotional well-being.

Conversely, you may also come to the stark realization of how little you miss someone who was once central to your life. This acknowledgment can be liberating, allowing you to embrace the freedom that comes with letting go of a connection that no longer serves you.

Furthermore, you may realize that you have been fighting for someone who, in contrast, has stopped fighting for you, leading to a profound understanding of the imbalance that may have existed in the relationship. This epiphany can be painful yet necessary, as it opens the door to reevaluating your worth and the energy you invest in your connections.

In some cases, you may discover that something you thought was finished still has life in it, sparking a renewed interest or rekindling of feelings that you believed had faded. This realization can lead to exciting yet complicated emotions as you navigate the possibilities of revival and what that might mean for your future.

Moreover, you may finally understand why a relationship could never become what you wanted it to become, gaining clarity on the fundamental differences or obstacles that prevented it from flourishing. This insight can be crucial for personal growth, enabling you to set healthier boundaries and make more informed choices in future relationships.

And perhaps the hardest realization of all is this: sometimes love is real, deeply felt, and yet the relationship still does not work. This poignant truth can be difficult to accept, as it challenges the notion that love alone is sufficient to sustain a partnership. It highlights the complexity of human emotions and the multifaceted nature of relationships.

These two things can exist at the same time, illustrating the intricate dance between love and compatibility, desire and practicality. Recognizing this duality can lead to a more profound understanding of ourselves and our relational needs.

Pisces, with its deep emotional intelligence, understands love in its many forms, often embodying the essence of compassion and connection. On the other hand, Virgo, grounded in practicality and reality, understands the importance of structure and the need for relationships to function in a balanced manner.

This eclipse asks us to hold both perspectives, encouraging us to embrace the emotional depth of love while also acknowledging the realities of our circumstances. It invites us to reflect on our relationships with a discerning eye, fostering growth and clarity as we move forward in our emotional journeys.

DO NOT MAKE EVERY FEELING A PROPHECY

This is important.

A Pisces eclipse can make emotions incredibly strong. But a strong feeling is not automatically a prediction. Missing someone does not automatically mean you should call them. Feeling afraid does not mean something terrible is going to happen. Feeling hopeful does not guarantee the outcome you want. And though feelings are information, they are not always instructions.

Give yourself time to notice what comes up, what triggers you. Pay attention to what you suddenly remember and what becomes obvious. You do not have to make a major decision within five minutes of having a major emotion.

Let the eclipse reveal what it must. You can decide afterward.

WHAT IF THE THING FALLING APART NEEDED TO CHANGE?

This may be the uncomfortable gift hidden inside this eclipse. We spend a lot of our lives trying to keep things together, whether it be our relationships, businesses, plans, identities, or expectations. Sometimes, that is exactly what we should do. However, there are moments when we find ourselves working incredibly hard to preserve something that has already reached the end of its useful form. In those instances, life often intervenes and changes things for us.

At first, this change can feel terrible, leaving us unsettled and disoriented. Yet, as time passes, we may come to realize that the disruption was necessary for our growth. In fact, we might find ourselves reflecting on the experience and acknowledging a profound truth: I would never have moved if that had not happened. This is one of the great mysteries of Uranus; the event you initially perceive as a disaster may ultimately become the catalyst for a significant shift in your life’s direction.

It is essential to remember that not every ending is a tragedy. Not every surprise brings bad news, and not every closed door is a form of punishment. Sometimes, these events serve as a simple redirection, guiding us toward new opportunities and paths that we may not have considered otherwise.

AND THEN, AFTER THE ECLIPSE, COMES THE QUESTION:

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO BUILD NOW?

Only a few days later, Jupiter in Leo forms a beautiful trine with Saturn in Aries, and I love that this alignment occurs immediately after such an emotional and unpredictable eclipse. The combination of Jupiter and Saturn tells a very different story than the one we experienced during the eclipse. Jupiter encourages us to think bigger, to expand our horizons and embrace new possibilities. In contrast, Saturn steps in with a more pragmatic approach, urging us to take those grand ideas and make them a reality.

Jupiter brings vision and inspiration, allowing us to see the potential in our dreams and aspirations. On the other hand, Saturn provides the necessary structure and discipline to ensure that these visions can be realized. While Jupiter sees possibility, Saturn critically evaluates what will actually work in the real world. This dynamic interplay suggests that perhaps this eclipse is not solely about endings; it may also be about clearing space for new beginnings and opportunities.

As we navigate this period, something may be revealed that shifts our perspective or surprises us in unexpected ways. This moment could serve as a catalyst for transformation, prompting us to rethink our approach to life and our goals. With this newfound clarity, we are presented with the opportunity to build differently—better, smarter, and more honestly. It is a chance to align our actions with the person we have become, ensuring that our future endeavors resonate with our true selves.

THIS ECLIPSE MAY ASK YOU:

  • What am I still holding onto because I am afraid to let go?

  • What am I trying not to see?

  • What keeps returning to my life?

  • Why does it keep returning?

  • What have I outgrown?

  • What still deserves another chance?

  • What am I feeling?

  • And what are the facts?

  • What do I value now?

And perhaps most importantly:

If I stopped trying to force the old story to work, what new story could begin?

WHO MAY FEEL THIS MOST?

If you have important planets or angles in the early degrees of Pisces, Virgo, Gemini or Sagittarius, particularly around 2° to 8°, you may notice this eclipse more personally.

But an eclipse cannot be interpreted properly from your Sun sign alone.

Where it lands in your natal chart matters.

The house is significant.

The planets it influences are important.

Your current transits hold value.

And your actual life circumstances are crucial.

Two people can experience the same eclipse very differently.

For one person, it may bring a relationship decision.

For another, a career turning point.

For another, a family issue.

For someone else, it may simply bring a powerful internal realization.

Astrology describes timing and patterns.

You are still the person living the story.

THE MESSAGE OF THE AUGUST 28 ECLIPSE

You may not require yet another sign to guide your way.

What you truly need is the courage to recognize the sign that has already been presented to you.

It is not necessary to cease feeling altogether.

It is essential to stop allowing your feelings to obscure the facts that are right in front of you.

The past is resurfacing because there is something that warrants a second examination.

Something is shifting because it has outgrown its previous form.

And the question you should be asking is no longer:

“How do I maintain everything exactly as it was?”

The more pertinent question is:

“What is life attempting to reveal to me at this moment?”

Because this eclipse may not provide you with every answer right away. However, it can certainly alter the questions you are asking.

And at times...

that is where the genuine change begins.

Embracing the Unknown

Within the space that exists between questions and answers lies immense potential for growth and transformation. It is in this very space that we confront our deepest fears, challenge long-held beliefs, and uncover the essence of our true selves.

Awakening to Possibility

As you navigate through this transformative journey, it is vital to remember that discomfort frequently precedes significant transformation. Embrace the uncertainty surrounding you; it serves as a powerful indicator that you are in the process of evolving.

Empowerment Through Reflection

Take the time to reflect on the lessons that your past has imparted, viewing them not as burdens to bear, but as essential stepping stones leading you toward your future. Each experience has played a role in shaping who you are today, and recognizing this truth is a profoundly empowering act of self-love.

Conclusion: The Journey Ahead

As you find yourself standing at the crossroads between what has been and what could potentially be, dare to explore the deeper questions that arise. Allow yourself to be vulnerable, to engage with your feelings on a profound level, and to seek clarity amidst the chaos that surrounds you.

Ultimately, the journey is not about clinging to what is familiar and comfortable, but rather about embracing the path that lies ahead and trusting that every step you take is a step toward the life you are destined to live.
